I’m a big fan of “Shark Tank” and an even bigger fan of Mike Hauke, owner of Tony Baloneys.
We had a great on-air interview together this morning on WPG Talk Radio 95.5
Mike Hauke could not reveal this morning whether he earned a “Shark Tank” deal. That news is strictly embargoed until the 8:00 p.m. hour (tonight) on Friday, April 18, 2025.
“Shark Tank” made us all wait. Mike Hauke appeared at 8:46 p.m., (the coveted closing act of the show) wearing a tall, green, spiky hair style and dark goggles … looking like a mad scientist … which was the whole point.
Hauke removed the costume early in his appearance and presentation.
The “Sharks” loved the Mad Mutz Mozzarella Sticks samples that Hauke provided to them. Lori Greinier commented about how much she liked the packaging.
Mr. Wonderful and Mark Cuban went out early.
Barbara Corcoran followed with a $150,000 for 20 percent offer with a contingency.
Hauke initially offered The Sharks with an opportunity to invest $ 150,000 for a 5% ownership stake in Mad Mutz Mozzarella Sticks.
Barbara Corcoran suddenly backed out and Lori Greiner immediately followed with $150,000 offer at 20% and Mike Hauke accepted.
It was a fast and furious negotiation session.
Make no mistake about it. It is very hard to get a food deal of any kind from one of “The Sharks” … because it is such a competitive space.
I have long predicted, including on-air this morning that Mike Hauke would get a coveted offer and make a deal with a Shark. It’s a prediction that was against all odds … because of the many challenges in the food industry.
I said that in advance because I have known Hauke for 15 years. We’re friends. Everything that Mike does is of the highest caliber.
No more suspense. I was right … Mike Hauke of Mad Mutz Mozzarella Sticks got a “Shark Tank” offer and was able to close a deal.
Even if Hauke didn’t get an offer, their outstanding product is destined to be a hit … on its own merit and because even when you don’t get a deal on “Shark Tank,” the upside for your business is still exceptional.
Before “Shark Tank,” they already make 60,000 mozzarella sticks a day at what Hauke calls their “Mad Mutz Mozzarella Laboratory.”

All of South Jersey is hoping for the safe return of yet another pet that seems to have gotten lost.
Atlantic County has been alerted of a 1-year-old baby parrot on the loose in Ventnor City. She was last spotted on Ski Beach. Her name is Seraphina. Her owner says she's a sweetheart
Seraphina is a Jardine's Parrot and has brought her family so much joy since finding her forever home.
People have taken to Facebook to express their concern. It's not hard to figure out why so many people are praying for Seraphina's safe return before nightfall.
Since Jardine's Parrots are susceptible to respiratory issues, their ideal climate is anywhere between 70-80 degrees. It's not unheard of for these kinds of birds to catch something as a result of being exposed to fluctuating temperatures.
Here in New Jersey, fluctuating temperatures basically define our weather here in the southernmost parts of the state from late March through mid-May.
Atlantic County has been experiencing temperatures dipping into the 40s at nighttime. Hopefully, if enough people get their eyes on some of Seraphina's pictures, she can be reunited with her owner before coming down with anything.

The year was 2014: a nationwide ban on the sale of incandescent light bulbs started, Jimmy Fallon began hosting "The Tonight Show" in New York City, and the new One World Trade Center building opened in New York City.
Meanwhile, in Atlantic City, a decades-old casino shut its doors.
And over 11 years later, the old Atlantic Club Casino remains a dark and dismal stain on Atlantic City's skyline. At least for now.
Like many things in the World's Play Ground, there are storylines upon storylines with this casino, but here's a very short version of its history.
This property opened in 1980 as the original Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino, not to be confused with the current Golden Nugget by the marina. This was the sixth gaming hall in the city, and within just three years, it was the top-earning casino in town.
A series of ownership and name changes started in 1987 when the Golden Nugget was sold to Bally Manufacturing for $440 million and the building became Bally's Grand Hotel and Casino. In the mid-1990s, Hilton Hotels acquired Bally Entertainment and the facility changed to the Atlantic City Hilton.
In the summer of 2011, Hilton ended a licensing agreement with the firm operating the building and their name was removed; the property was rebranded as the very generic-sounding "ACH Casino Resort." In less than a year, ACH underwent yet another name change, this time to The Atlantic Club Casino Hotel, a casino that attempted to attract locals.
That strategy ultimately failed and The Atlantic Club closed on January 13th, 2014.
Since then, almost nothing has happened at that casino, at least on the outside.
The property has been sold a handful of times, each with a promise of reopening the building as a hotel and/or casino and/or "something." An idea was floated (no pun intended) at least once to turn it into a waterpark or family resort — that never happened. Stockton University, as they developed a huge campus in Atlantic City, attempted to buy the high-rise in 2018, but that deal never materialized.
The good news is, in what may be its best chance at reopening in a very long time, news broke earlier this year that Colosseo Atlantic City, Inc., has plans to renovate the property, turning half of it into condominiums and the other half into a hotel that would, ironically, be operated by Hilton.
But until that happens, those in and around Atlantic City are left looking at a giant building that once was one of the grandest casinos on the east coast but is now a weathered shell of its former self. A reminder that time isn't the kindest commodity in Atlantic City and neither is the salty air.
Not too long ago, we took a walk around the exterior of the property. Compared to the other bustling casinos in town like Hard Rock, Borgata, and Ocean, this one sits eerily quiet. The clanks of quarters flowing out of slot machines are long gone, as are the thousands of people who used to flock to this building.

In recent years, many South Jersey Businesses have stepped up to support local schools and help make sure the youth have what they need to have the best education and opportunities.
Just because the National Media has turned Education Funding into a hot topic doesn't mean its an issue that just occurred in 2025. New Jersey has plenty of controversy with state aid cuts for Schools, forcing some South Jersey School Districts to discontinue certain services and programs they offer the children.
Now, one Atlantic City Restaurant is raising money to support one of the local schools in a unique way.
Located at the corner of Fairmont Avenue and North California Avenue, Moments at Scannicchio’s is an establishment that opened just a couple of years ago. They have posted multiple times on social media how much they appreciate the support from the community in their first couple of years open in Atlantic City.
They posted the following announcement on their Facebook Page about how they are raising money to support one of Atlantic City's Schools:
"This April, a percentage of our proceeds will be donated to Texas Avenue Elementary School in Atlantic City! The community has shown so much love to Moments at Scannicchio’s, and now it’s our turn to give back. Come in, enjoy a delicious meal, and be part of something special! Every bite makes a difference."
The Texas Avenue School is an Atlantic City Kindergarten through 8th Grade Public Education Institution. The school is located a short walking distance from Moments at Scannicchio’s and across Fairmount Avenue is the Texas Avenue School Playground.
